Looking through history, we will discover that Germany as a country had produced a lot of artists that has contributed to a positive change in the musical industry and changed the face of western music. When we talk of music, the Germans cannot be overlooked, as they have been the one of the best at it. The Germans hold a high position vin the musical industry around the whole world even till date. In this article, I will be making some important points about the best German composers that ever lived. These great German composers had contributed greatly to the change in the musical world.

GEORG PHILIPP TELEMANN

Born in 1681, Telemann as he is always called was a man that his creativity level spring up questions in the musical industry and also for musical scholars and performers. Although his works cannot be matched with that of Sebastian Bach, but this does not mean his works can be overlooked. His work still made the front line in the music world and this made him one of the creator of the great German new styles. His music also serves as an important link that connects the late Baroque and Classical era. He died in the year 1767.

JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH

Born in 1685, Bach’s work are being celebrated for its intellectual depth and proficiency. The beauty of his work cannot be overlooked, and also the activeness is something to be proud of. His ability as a genius in counterpoint, temperament distortion, etc.has advanced the German music style. Bach has the ability to influence rhythm and also form texture from other European countries. His famous works are “the Brandenburg concertos, Mass B Minor, The well- Tempered Clavier” and much more. Although he died in 1750, but his works are still being performed in concerts till date.

CHRISTOPH WILLIBALD GLUCK

Gluck was an opera composer in the early classical eras, he wrote lots of works in the 1760s, and some of his works are Alceste and Orfeo ed Enridice, both of which were the breakthrough the opera needed. One of his innovations is placing higher importance on music and not the singer. Gluck wrote about 8operas for the Parisian stages and the French’s almalgam was designed by him. Gluck lived between year 1714 and 1784.

FELIX MENDELSSOHN

Felix was born in 1809, and he was indeed a very gifted visual artist. Not only was he a Reminiscence man, he was also an expert in philosophy and literature. Although Felix Mendelssohn was not very popular, but his works like Midsummer’s Night Dream, Symphonies 3 and Symphonies 4 cannot be ignored. He died in 1847.

FELIX MENDELSSOHN

ROBERT SCHUMANN

The man who was one of the greatest composers in the romantic era was an exclusive piano composer, until 1840 when he composed orchestra and piano. Great works like Kinderszenen, Album fur die Jugend, etc.are some of his famous works. At the latter end of his life, he requested to be confined in a mental home after he had attempted to kill himself. He later died in the mental home in 1856, when he was 46years old.
